The line “PASSATO PROSSIMO” has its roots in the 16th century, the era of the origins of “seminato” flooring written about by Palladio in his book “Libro Primo dè Pavimenti” it recounts “il terrazzo, così come lo si fa a Venezia.” In the tradition of the Venetian Renaissance of the 15th century, “il terrazzo” spread in popularity in the following centuries in Italy and in most parts of Europe, where it’s still appreciated as extremely prestigious flooring.
The almost complete disappearance of craftsmen in this sector, the real artists creating “seminato”
or “terrazzo” flooring, has motivated Aganippe to undergo research to allow it to produce flooring not produced in exactly the same way but with the same aesthetic attraction of these timeless floorings.
